Why I have decided to remove virtually all Adsense ads from Rommo.net

As some of you might have noticed, I have removed Adsense Ads from my site. Its not really a major loss since I haven’t been making all that much off the ads in the first place. I have come to this decision after reading a post from Trent at his blog called The Simple Dollar. Trent decided to remove Adsense from his blog because of the type of ads being shown didn’t agree with the type of site he was running. The Simple Dollar is a blog designed to help people make better financial decisions and improve their life. On the other hand, most of the ads displayed were from “from payday loan places, credit card brokerages, shady subprime lenders, and such.”

I have designed Rommo.net to help people avoid lousy money making products and scams. However, most, if not all, of the ads displayed on this site are in conflict with that purpose. Therefore, I have decided to remove Adsense advertising from ROMMO so that I could have better control over what’s displayed here.

As a result, I have decided to make a change to my initial position of not having any affiliate referral links to having only ones for products that I think are honest. Without affiliate commissions there would simply be no way for me to maintain the costs of purchasing and reviewing products and running this site.
